Intermediate Administrative Support

Performs intermediate administrative support work receiving, processing, recording, and accounting for utility revenue, taxes, and various other fees, processing payments, preparing connection, disconnection, and transfer orders, preparing and maintaining records and files, entering data, assisting the public, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the assigned supervisor. This position is for the Water Department Customer Service Office.

Job Duties :

• Assists customers with utility bill questions; collects various revenues; handles delinquent accounts; responds to routine inquiries and / or complaints; prepares and balances daily cash reports and verifies accuracy.
• Generates new service orders; processes and updates completed service orders; notifies Public Utilities field personnel to make connections, disconnections, re-reads and notifies Public Utilities field personnel of high priority items; establishes and closes accounts and other services appropriately.
• Processes tax and privilege license payments; assists customers with completing forms for making installment payments of utilities; accepts installment payments and applies to appropriate accounts.
• Enters new accounts into system; makes changes to existing customer accounts as necessary.
• Performs other assigned duties.
