As a Registered Nurse (RN) , you will work under the supervision of the Nurse Manager / Clinical Coordinator, playing a crucial role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. You will also supervise non-RN personnel and may take on charge responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations across nursing units.

Your Responsibilities

  • Continuously assess patients' physical and psychosocial conditions throughout their care journey.
  • Develop and document individualized care plans, involving patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Implement and coordinate care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make necessary adjustments.
  • Plan and provide educational opportunities for patients and families based on their learning needs.
  • Serve as a preceptor for new staff, sharing your knowledge and expertise.
  • Take on charge nurse duties as needed, delegating and supervising unit activities.
  • Meet performance expectations in customer service, teamwork, and professional development.
  • Demonstrate competency in neonatal care, including IV line management and respiratory support.
  • Support breastfeeding initiatives in the NICU, collaborating with Lactation Consultants.

What We’re Looking ForQualifications

Education : Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred. Proficient in electronic patient records and internet research.

Experience : Recent experience in level 2 or 3 neonatal care preferred.

Licensure : Valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license.

Special Skills :

  • BLS certification required.
  • NRP certification required within six months of hire.
  • NICU certification required within two years of completing orientation.
