Descripción del trabajoActive IL RN license required at time of application, Minimum of 2 years recent Med / Surg experience, BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross only; RQI not accepted), Proficient in PICC line management and starting IVs, Willingness to care for trach and laryngectomy patients, Must be willing to float within the hospital and to nearby affiliates, Up to a 1 : 7 patient ratio must be accepted if needed, Permanent or PRN employees of Memorial must have a 12-month separation before applying as a traveler, Responsibilities include managing IVs, PICC lines, and providing care to a varied med / surg patient population, Must be open to learning care for trach and laryngectomy patients, First-time travelers are welcome to apply, Solid color scrubs are required, Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays; only one winter holiday off may be requested, Locals are accepted with no radius restrictions, Cerner charting experience is preferred but not required, Parking permit provided at no cost, All RTO must be submitted for approval; a maximum of 5 non-holiday days off may be auto-approved, Required to complete onboarding modules virtually on the first day and annually thereafter,
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med / Surg RN for a Level I trauma acute care hospital, requiring an active IL RN license and proficiency in IV and PICC management.
Job Details
- Work in an acute care hospital on a Medical Surgical unit,
- Level I trauma center and Magnet-recognized facility,
- Shift options include 3x12 or 4x12 day shifts, 6 : 45 am to 7 : 15 pm,
- Care for a variety of medical-surgical patients, including those with trach and laryngectomy,
- Typical ratios up to 1 : 7 if necessary, though not common,
- Every other weekend is required; scheduling may adjust based on approved time off,
- Floating is required within the hospital and to affiliated hospitals as needed,
- No on-call responsibilities,
- Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience is preferred,
