Pipefitter - Associate 4 - Day Shift
Vigor Marine Group is seeking a Pipefitter - Associate 4 for the Day Shift. This role is with a federally contracted employer and is subject to regulations that restrict employment to US Persons only. Successful candidates will provide documentation of US Persons status as part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities
- Complies with craft and shipyard safety and environmental measures.
- Identifies and traces various pipe systems aboard vessels (steam, lube oil, salt water, fresh water, hydraulics, cargo, crude oil, compressed air, etc.).
- Disassembles / assembles and repairs shipboard systems.
- Reads blueprints to locate pipe systems.
- Operates pipe threading machine, pipe bender, and Oakey bevelers.
- Determines pipe sizes and schedules; takes off fittings (90°, 45°, tees) for fabrication or repair.
- Sets up and operates flushing machine.
- Uses a tape measure and performs work at various heights (up to 100 feet).
- Handles hand and power tools and uses company property safely.
- Performs rigging as applicable to pipe and valve systems, including standards and safe working loads.
- Performs similar work in all yard areas as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

High school diploma or GED preferred.2 years of relevant work experience.Proven skills, work history, or applicable education may substitute for work experience.Career Progression
Associate 2 : Proficient in Fire Watch and Associate 1 duties; trains with staging; basic pipe bolting under supervision. May perform Associate 1 or Fire Watch duties. Must obtain three additional Ship Repair Skills to progress to the next level.

Transfers pipes, valves, tools, and welding stinger weighing up to 10 lbs. from 4" to 76"; up to 60 / hour.Transfers fabricated parts weighing up to 40 lbs. from 4" to 40"; up to 20 / hour.Transfers parts (spools) up to 40 lbs. up to 25 feet without mechanical assistance.Transfers materials weighing up to 75 lbs. up to 25 feet without mechanical assistance.Positions and adjusts pipes and valves with force up to 60 lbs., up to 6 / hour, within 2 ft.Handles welding stingers and power tools with forces up to 25 lbs., up to 60 / hour.Accesses tanks and scaffolding; climbs ladders up to 200 rungs / hour over an 8-hour period.Accesses vessels and job locations; climbs stairs up to 180 steps / hour over 8 hours.Accesses tanks and bilge areas; confined spaces as required.Works in pipes with limited headroom and tolerates heights up to 100 ft.Interior pipe welding with limited space; repetitive postures as needed.Walks up to 3 miles per shift in some environments.Interpersonal Contacts
