Inpatient Coding Specialist

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Specialist for their Medical Coding Department.

Key Responsibilities

Utilize computerized encoder and systems to complete the coding process

Abstract inpatient accounts for hospital reporting and ensure compliance with coding guidelines

Monitor documentation discrepancies and assist with final coded data efforts

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Formal education in Health Information Management or a related field

One of the following credentials : CCS, RHIT, or RHIA

Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience in an acute hospital setting

Proficiency in coding software and Health Information Management systems
