About This Opportunity

Schedule / Hours : Monday-Saturday (Seasonal full-time)

Pay : $13.00-$13.50

This position is responsible for :

The Kettle Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and supervising both employee and volunteer bell ringers to ensure all kettle locations are adequately staffed. This role oversees daily operations of the kettle program, including monitoring performance, maintaining accurate records of kettle income and worker hours, and preparing reports. The position also engages with community partners, coordinates special events and recognition efforts, delivers and collects kettles and supplies, and assists with counting and depositing funds. Overall, the Kettle Coordinator ensures the program runs smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with Salvation Army standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Recruit, interview, and train bell ringing staff and volunteers to ensure adequate coverage of all kettle locations.
  • Plan, schedule, assign, and supervise the work of staff and volunteers, ensuring compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports for daily kettle income, hours worked, and program status.
  • Coordinate special events and recognition efforts, including preparing plaques, certificates, and event records.
  • Deliver and collect kettles and supplies, and assist with counting, recording, and depositing kettle funds.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :

  • Knowledge of volunteer recruitment methods and practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to prepare accurate and complete records and reports.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers and staff.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and evaluate the work of volunteers and staff.
  • Ability to maintain volunteer and financial database.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
  • Duties include extensive driving to and from kettle locations 50-75% of work time.
  • Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying equipment (less than 40 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
  • What We Are Looking For In You :

  • High School or G.E.D. and one year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferred. Or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
