Mission :
In the spirit of St. Paul of the Cross and through the love of Christ crucified, we provide a unique, sacred place of hospitality and compassion where all are welcome to experience hope, renewal, and the loving presence of God through spiritual retreats and hosted events.
Vision :
We are a dynamic, growing retreat and conference center serving people from all walks of life in the greater Detroit area. Our traditional weekend retreats are filled to capacity and our hosted events, including youth and young adult programs, are demanding larger facilities and more personnel. The retreat experience is having a positive impact on the lives of others which benefits families and our communities. We are financially secure with an endowment fund in sound investments adequate to further our mission.
Guiding Values :
Passionist Charism :
To live and promote 'the living memory' of the Passion. To live daily life with the same openness to God that Jesus displayed in his Passion and death. We believe that remembering the cross means remembering those in the world who bear the cross today : the disabled, the sick, the dying, the grieving, those isolated and alone - all who share the burden of pain. Jesus identified himself with the 'least'. He shared their burdens and brought them hope. He, too, bore the cross.
We are called to be 'living memorials' of the Passion of Jesus. This operates at our deepest core and should be observable in how we deal with the unexpected, disappointment and pain. We strive to be open to God's will more than seeking to understand it. Our charism calls for us to challenge those things in our life and our culture that encourage self-interest and discourage awareness of God.
