Description :

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Implements and monitors patient care plans.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.

Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Work environment can be stressful.

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Provides care to the adult population in a step down / progressive care unit.

Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 3-5.

Supported by patient care technicians and a healthcare unit coordinator.

Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring and monitor techs to monitor patients on telemetry.
