Regulatory Analyst

Job Duties/Responsibilities
With guidance from Manager or more senior staff, prepares accurate and timely filings for exact cost recovery tariffs (e.g., rate riders for fuel and purchased energy costs, purchased capacity charges, storm restoration costs, energy efficiency program costs, environmental costs, etc.). Compiles, analyzes, and provides support to OPCO regulatory teams by providing high quality service and work product while meeting regulatory and jurisdictional filing requirements and deadlines. Prepares updates to rider rate-related documents used by other departments. Provides data and support to Regulatory Filings to ensure costs and revenues associated with exact recovery riders are treated correctly in Base Rate and FRP filings. Responds to discovery before the APSC, MPSC, PUCT, LPSC, FERC and the New Orleans City Council. Prepares, conducts detailed review of, and analyzes filing documents, work papers and supporting schedules. Prepares quantitative analysis of exact cost recovery tariff rates to evaluate customer bill impacts. With guidance from Manager or more senior staff, assists in the interpretation of regulatory order filing requirements for exact cost recovery tariffs and incorporates such requirements in process documentation. Assists in the documentation and maintenance of process and control documentation for exact cost recovery tariff filings.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Education required of the position Bachelor's degree in Math, Accounting, Finance or Engineering or equivalent work experience. Preferred: MBA or other advanced degree
Minimum Experience required of the position Regulatory Analyst II or III: 1 to 3 years' experience Regulatory Analyst, Sr: 3-5 years' experience Regulatory Analyst, Sr Lead: 7+ years' experience
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position Strong analytical skills Problem solving and critical thinking skills. Attention to detail. Familiarity with modeling and spreadsheet analysis.
