Position : Offset Sheetfed Pressman

The Offset Sheetfed Pressman is responsible for leading the press crew and performing manual and machine operator tasks related to the setup, maintenance, and operation of the press. This role reports directly to the Pressroom Manager.
Responsibilities :
Prepare and operate offset printing presses.
Review job orders to determine specifications, stock, colors, and special instructions.
Inspect printing plates for defects; repair minor issues or escalate as needed.
Apply packing sheets to blanket cylinders to ensure proper thickness.
Measure paper stock and adjust press settings based on material specifications.
Print on lightweight papers including 24# and 27# stock.
Adjust ink and dampening controls to maintain proper flow.
Monitor press operation, checking for registration, ink density, and quality throughout runs.
Adjust feeder and delivery mechanisms for smooth operation.
Replace worn rollers and adjust roller pressures using hand tools.
Provide direction, training, and oversight to press crew members.
Follow company safety protocols and procedures.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press equipment.
Qualifications :
2+ years as a Pressman or 5–7 years as a Second Pressman.
Strong knowledge of press mechanics and capabilities.
Ability to accurately identify color variations.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Proven experience in press operation, troubleshooting, and quality control.
Ability to read and follow detailed written instructions.
Physical ability to lift, bend, turn, and perform pressroom tasks.
Regular exposure to noise, dust, odors, and oils.
