Job Description :

Sullivan County Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) to join our Operating Room team. The CSFA will play an integral role in supporting surgeons during operative procedures, ensuring patient safety, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting in surgical care within an acute care setting.

This position offers a dynamic environment where teamwork, attention to detail, and clinical expertise are key to providing high-quality surgical outcomes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities :

Assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures.

Prepare and maintain the sterile field and surgical instruments.

Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care as directed.

Handle specimens properly for laboratory analysis.

Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, safety, and infection control standards.

Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Document all surgical activities accurately using the Evident CPSI System 19 charting system.

Requirements :

Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required.

Must hold an active CSFA certification (Certified Surgical First Assist).

Must be licensed and eligible to practice in the state of Indiana (willing to wait for license).

Proven ability to work in a fast-paced acute care surgical environment.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Certifications Required :

BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA – Required

CSFA Certification – Required

Education :

Graduate of an accredited Surgical First Assist program.

BSN not required.
