Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, order necessary diagnostic tests, and create tailored care plans
  • Diagnose and treat acute, chronic, or episodic health issues in partnership with physicians or independently, depending on your qualifications
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding wellness, prevention, and disease management
  • Manage prescriptions and therapies within your professional scope
  • Engage in patient follow-up care and chronic disease management
  • Work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive, holistic care
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation using electronic medical records (EMR)
Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner education program
Certifications Needed
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in South Dakota
  • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to secure within 90 days)
