Base pay range : $150,000.00 / yr - $160,000.00 / yr
Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead network architect for all classified and unclassified HQ PACAF networks and future‑state architecture design.
- Advise PACAF A6 leadership on technology selection, network optimization strategies, and capability enhancements.
- Evaluate enterprise architecture against mission objectives, capacity demands, and cyber posture requirements.
- Develop and present Cost‑Benefit Analyses, engineering plans, and risk assessments for large‑scale upgrades or system transitions.
- Provide design and integration strategies for data center operations, disaster recovery, and wireless network expansion.
- Lead stakeholder engagement and strategic engineering planning aligned to operational readiness and future force projection.
- Evaluate network topology, protocol architecture, and integration plans to ensure scalability and security.
- Provide recommendations to meet operational IT needs.
- Provide oversight for design compliance, risk assessments, and design reviews involving cross‑domain solutions and coalition connectivity.
- Survey and assess the condition of the site(s) facilities to assess potential upgrades that may impact equipment installation related to the network and / or growth projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, systems architecture, or related discipline from an accredited institution.Minimum of 10+ years of senior‑level network architecture or engineering experience supporting DoD or joint commands.At start date, must possess CCNP (Enterprise) certification in ACTIVE status.Proven track record of designing and implementing secure, scalable DoD enterprise networks (classified and unclassified).Expertise with network architecture, firewall policy, routing protocols, QoS, Cloud‑enablement strategies, and cross‑domain solutions.Deep knowledge of DoD architecture frameworks, RMF, and PACAF‑specific mission demands.Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), outstanding customer service, team building, and consensus‑building abilities.Self‑motivated with the ability to stay focused, organized, and plan work independently or collaboratively in a rapidly changing environment.Analytical mindset with attention to detail, accuracy, and consistent follow‑through.Proven ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment when handling situational occurrences.Provide technical support across secure and non‑secure networks.Work with senior leaders in a Joint Operations Center, demonstrating polished technical skills and a professional mindset.Pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. Citizenship.All applicants must have current DoD Top Secret clearance day one and prior to entry on duty, with the ability to pass an SSBI background investigation to up‑scope their clearance to Top Secret / SCI.Desired Qualifications and Skills
Possess a Computing Environment Commercial Certification in ACTIVE status :CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure or SecurityCloud Architecture (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, DoD Cloud certs)Possess one or more of the following certifications in ACTIVE status :CAP / CGRC – Certified Authorization ProfessionalSecurityX – Formerly known as CASP+CECISM – Certified Information Security ManagerCISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional (or Associate)GSLC – GIAC Security Leadership certification10+ years working with DoD IA policy and guidelines and applying implications on network architecture design and configuration.Current DoD TS clearance with SCI eligibility day one and prior to entry on duty.Ability to provide system design plan, detailed cable runs, site preparation actions, and systems integration test plans.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
