UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Finance Operations Coordinator to join our Finance Team. This opportunity is a full-time day shift opening located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

  • This is a work from home position that requires the selected candidate to have a permanent address and live in New Mexico or be willing to relocate to New Mexico
  • This position is remote, however the selected candidate would need to be available to come into the office in Albuquerque, New Mexico if they experience network or laptop issues

Minimum $44,604 - Midpoint $55,766

  • Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.
  • Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours / week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.
  • Summary

    Performs Finance and administrative tasks in support of various Finance Department operational functions. Prepares and processes financial documents and transactions, reconciles financial records and analyzes routine financial data. Investigates and resolves routine problems related to cash, receivables, inventories, expenditures, and / or procurement practices and ensures accuracy, as well as compliance with appropriate financial policies, procedures, and guidelines. Conducts research and analysis of operational issues and participates in problem resolution. Assists in development and implementation of Finance operating policies and procedures and ensures adherence to those policies.

    Minimum Job Requirements of a Finance Operations Coordinator :

    High school diploma or GED with at least five (5) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; completed degree from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.

    Duties and Responsibilities of a Finance Operations Coordinator :

  • Prepares and inputs financial data into finance and subsidiary systems.
  • Prepares deposits of cash and cash-related items, balances cash funds and accounts to the financial reporting system.
  • Performs unannounced cash observations and Performs inventory observations to ensure assets are accurately reflected in the subsidiary ledger and appropriately safeguarded.
  • Reviews and initiates employee expense reimbursements for approval, ensuring that supporting documentation is provided and that requests conform to organizational policies and standard accounting practices.
  • Provides input and assistance in the development and implementation of mechanisms and controls to ensure appropriate Finance processes, accurate vendor reporting, and maintenance of appropriate records.
  • Issues and maintains purchase orders while monitoring procurement and accounts payable processes.
  • Assists in the oversight of the UNMMG Procurement Card program to include reconciliations, proper approvals, and appropriate documentation retention.
  • Responsible for mailing out-patient and insurance refund checks and related supporting documentation. Maintains historical data to facilitate research regarding refund files.
  • Evaluates invoice coding for appropriateness and conformity to organizational accounting standards.
  • Tracks and maintains documentation for vendor setup including liability insurance and other related certifications where stipulated in agreements.
  • Prepares and maintains required records, files, and reports for Finance activities, as well as assists in the preparation and submission of necessary reports, such as 1099 Vendor Certificates, as required.
  • Assists with developing Finance training guides and conducting trainings.
  • May lead or participate in various project initiatives that support the overall organization.
