Position Overview

The Construction Foreperson will oversee and direct all facets of construction crew operations and personnel.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties & Functions)

• Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA / OSHA / DOT and P.J. Keating Company.
• Assist in the layout of the project.
• Assist in on the job training of crew members.
• Take part in daily crew and equipment management.
• Assist in direction of appropriate traffic control methods and techniques wherever necessary.
• Assist in completion of required paperwork on a daily, weekly, and as needed basis.
• Understand production needs and maintain contact with the asphalt plant (i.e., progress of the job, projected tonnage per day, breakdowns, periodically monitor yield and overruns to assure compliance, etc.)
• Communicate with construction crew relative to the specific daily responsibilities, including job review, specific expectations, proper conduct, proper attire, and safety.
• Daily communications with the Construction Manager and other supervisory personnel regarding project status.
• Proper communications with asphalt plant relative to start up and stop times.
• Ensure projects / job sites are operating in a safe manner.
• Various other duties as assigned.
