Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN experienced in Pediatric ICU with PICU and Level 1 trauma background and Illinois licensure.
Responsibilities
Work in a pediatric inpatient unit that includes Pediatric ICU, Pediatric Advanced Care, and Pediatric Med / Surg patientsDay shift schedule from 7 : 00AM to 7 : 30PM, three 12-hour shifts per weekAssignment is 13 weeks in lengthUses EPIC charting system; prior experience with EPIC requiredFloating between pediatric-related areas may be expectedNo local candidates; must reside at least 50 miles from the facilityPerforms comprehensive nursing care including assessment, care planning, implementing, and modifying plans as neededCollaborates with Pediatric Intensivists, Pediatric Hospitalists, and multidisciplinary team membersManages intake and output, performs dressing changes, catheter insertions, and IV startsAdministers medications and uses bar code scanning for medication safetyActs as a mandated reporter for suspected abuse / neglect casesEnsures strong communication with patients and families via bedside report and hourly roundingAdheres to dress code and compliance deadlinesRestricted to a maximum of 7 days of approved time off during the 13-week contractContingent workers may work no more than 1 year consecutively at this facility without a break in serviceNo travel partners are accepted for this assignmentRequirements
Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temporary license acceptedMinimum one year of relevant nursing experience in a similar settingExperience working in a Level 1 trauma environment requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart AssociationAssociate's degree in nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferredEPIC charting experience requiredBenefits
