Operating Room Registered Nurse (Transplant) – Travel contract in Weston, FL. Immediate need for experienced transplant OR nurses with Misonix/CUSA and Epic skills.

• Duration: 13 weeks\n
• Shift: Days, 3 x 12-hour shifts (11:00 AM – 11:30 PM)\n
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)\n
• On-Call: 1 shift per week plus two 12-hour weekend call shifts per month\n
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 – $2,010\n
• Charting / EMR: Epic\n
• Scrub Color: Ceil Blue\n
• Parking: Free in any unrestricted space\n

\n\nJob Requirements (Transplant OR RN / Perioperative Nurse)\n

\n
• Experience: Minimum 2 years direct liver/transplant OR RN experience required (must include liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant implant experience; procurement-only not sufficient)\n
• Transplant Expertise: Experience implanting organs across solid-organ transplant cases\n
• Technical Skills: Proficient with Misonix / CUSA and standard OR equipment\n
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS required at submission; NIHSS must be obtained prior to start\n
• License: Active RN license required (pending license accepted for travel nurses)\n
• Compliance: Nicotine-free (negative 10-panel + nicotine/cotinine drug screen required)\n
• Pre-Employment Testing: EKG and pharmacology tests during orientation (maximum 2 attempts each)\n
• References: Two references from direct supervisor/manager or unit leadership\n
• Vaccines: COVID-19 and flu required (medical/religious exemptions only)\n
• Training Modules: Complete pre-start and annual modules (6–15 hours, time-sensitive)\n
• Traveler & Local Candidates: First-time travelers accepted; local RNs accepted at same rate\n

\n\nResponsibilities (Operating Room / Transplant Nurse)\n

\n
• Provide perioperative nursing care for solid-organ transplant surgeries (liver, heart, lung, kidney)\n
• Scrub and/or circulate per assignment, maintaining sterile technique and surgical safety protocols (Universal Protocol / time-out)\n
• Anticipate surgeon needs and coordinate effectively with anesthesia and interdisciplinary surgical teams\n
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain OR equipment including ultrasonic surgical aspiration systems (Misonix/CUSA)\n
• Ensure accurate specimen handling, infection prevention, and adherence to sterile field practices\n
• Document intraoperative care and events clearly and timely in Epic EMR\n
• Float within scope to support perioperative service needs; assist in orienting and training students and new staff\n
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide coverage for transplant cases as needed\n
