Subsurface Geologist

Location : Remote – Houston, TX

🔹 Highlights

  • Interpret seismic and well data to define reservoir structure and quality
  • Collaborate with drilling and reservoir teams for field development planning
  • Drive geologic modeling to support exploration and production

🛠️ Job Overview

The Subsurface Geologist integrates geophysical, geological, and petrophysical data to characterize reservoirs and identify development opportunities. You’ll generate 3D geologic models, interpret logs, and advise drilling on target selection and risk assessment. This role requires strong technical skills, an analytical mindset, and experience translating data into actionable field development insights.

🎓 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Geology, Geophysics, or Earth Sciences
  • 7+ years of experience in subsurface mapping and stratigraphic interpretation
  • Proficiency in Petrel, Kingdom, or GeoFrame
  • Strong understanding of basin analysis and structural geology
  • Experience working in unconventional or tight-rock plays
