Lead Accountant

Location : Columbus, OH

Type : Full-Time, Direct Hire

Salary : $80,000 - $85,000

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Lead Accountant to help lead financial operations across accounting, payroll, and procurement. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance, improving processes, and supporting strategic initiatives. Core Responsibilities :

  • Oversee AP, procurement, and payroll tax processes
  • Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and audit schedules
  • Manage tax filings including Form 990 and 990T
  • Lead capital project accounting, depreciation, and insurance claims
  • Maintain chart of accounts and record retention compliance
  • Supervise staff and contribute to team development
  • Support banking operations and vendor payment systems
  • Participate in procurement policy and process improvements

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's in Accounting (CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in non-profit
  • ERP and financial software proficiency (Banner experience a plus)
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP and government accounting standards
  • Skilled in payroll, AP procedures, and financial systems
