Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking two dedicated Accounts Payable Specialists to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing a high volume of invoices, preparing daily check runs, and handling special check requests. Your attention to detail and ability to maintain strong vendor relationships will be crucial in ensuring the timely resolution of payment issues.

Responsibilities :

• Accurately process a high volume of invoices in a timely and organized manner.
• Prepare daily check runs and ensure checks are mailed according to schedule.
• Handle special check requests, including manual or expedited payments.
• Research Purchase Card (P-Card) transactions for accuracy, duplicates, and policy compliance.
• Perform month-end closing duties.
• Prepare journal entries as needed to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and process Claims and Agent Refund requests following internal guidelines.
• Create ad hoc payments for manual checks as needed.
• Sort, organize, and distribute incoming mail for the AP department.
• Review location-submitted invoices for accurate GL coding, approvals, and proper support.
• Communicate with internal departments and vendors to research and resolve past-due invoices or payment inquiries.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal business units to facilitate timely resolution of payment issues.

Work Environment :

The office is located in Hopkins, MN, conveniently near Highway 394. Initially, the role requires five days in the office for the six-month contract period, transitioning to two days working from home upon full-time conversion. The team currently consists of 10 members and will expand to 12 with these new positions. The business hours are from 7 am to 5 pm, with flexible start times to accommodate commuting preferences. The department is known for its supportive and high-energy environment.

Job Type & Location :

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hopkins, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits :

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
