Position Overview :
We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our dynamic cardiology team at The Heart Institute of Venice. The APRN will play a key role in delivering high-quality cardiovascular care, focusing on patient evaluation, disease management, and prevention strategies. This role involves collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers in both direct patient care and care coordination.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments including history, physical exams, and diagnostic interpretation.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and arrhythmias.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests including EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and lab work.
- Develop individualized treatment and follow-up plans in collaboration with cardiologists.
- Prescribe medications and manage medication therapies within scope of practice.
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and preventive strategies.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and coordinate care across specialties as needed.
- Document all patient interactions accurately and thoroughly using an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with cardiology best practices.
Qualifications :
Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or APRN program.Current licensure as an APRN in the State of Florida .Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP); cardiology certification is a plus.Active BLS and ACLS certifications.Minimum 23 years of experience in a cardiology or internal medicine setting preferred.Strong clinical skills in cardiovascular care and patient education.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.Work Environment :
Outpatient clinic with some potential for hospital consults or remote monitoring.Typically weekday hours with occasional extended or weekend hours based on patient needs.Requires standing and walking for extended periods and occasional lifting of equipment or supplies.Benefits :
