Job Title : Part-Time Middle School Teacher – Computer Coding & Digital Imaging
Reports To : Principal
Position Summary : The Middle School Computer Coding & Digital Imaging Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons that introduce students to computer programming, digital design, and creative technology skills. This part-time role provides students with foundational knowledge in coding and digital media while fostering problem-solving, creativity, and digital citizenship.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and deliver standards-based lessons in computer coding and digital imaging for middle school students.
- Teach programming concepts (such as block coding, Python, or other age-appropriate languages) and introduce students to digital design tools.
- Create hands-on projects that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Guide students in developing responsible digital citizenship, including safe and ethical use of technology.
- Assess student progress, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with school staff to integrate technology into the broader curriculum.
- Maintain classroom technology, ensuring that equipment and software are ready for student use.
- Participate in professional development as needed to stay current with educational technology trends.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in education, Computer Science, Digital Media, or a related field (teaching certification preferred but not required for part-time positions).Experience teaching or working with middle school students.Knowledge of coding languages and platforms suitable for middle school (e.g., Scratch, Python, HTML / CSS, JavaScript).Familiarity with digital imaging tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, GIMP, or other design programs).Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.Ability to inspire students to explore technology with curiosity and creativity.Physical Requirements :
Ability to use classroom technology and support students in computer-based learning.Ability to actively engage with students in a classroom or lab settingWork Schedule :
Part-time; 4 hours per day / 1 day per week.Schedule and hours to be determined by school needs.Work Year : 18 hours per week, October 2025 - May 2026
Salary : $20 - $25 per hour, paid bi-monthly.
