We are seeking Malayalam Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Malayalam, a Dravidian language spoken in Kerala, India, is a priority South Asian language frequently required in immigration and asylum cases.
Responsibilities
Provide real-time Malayalam English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.Interpret accurately and impartially in immigration, legal, and administrative contexts.Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with USCIS / DHS interpreter standards.Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent / surge requests.Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and QA reviews.Qualifications
Native or near-native fluency in Malayalam and English.2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, community, legal, healthcare, or government preferred).Knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 clearance.Compensation & Benefits
