M&J Enterprises Construction Inc. is a fast-growing underground telecommunications contractor specializing in utility and infrastructure projects. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Accountant / Project Administrator to join our team and support both the financial and administrative success of our projects.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain vendors, subcontractors, and business partners in QuickBooks Contractor / Desktop.
- Process subcontractor pay applications, verify documentation, and manage approval workflows.
- Prepare and process payroll per job, ensuring accurate allocation of labor costs.
- Track and reconcile job costs using QuickBooks job costing and reporting tools.
- Prepare, process, and document change orders in a timely manner to maintain budget accuracy, secure PO approvals, and support prompt payment.
- Maintain organized project files for audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.
- Manage TCP barricades and secure permits required for project execution.
- Monitor and process traffic control permit renewals before expiration to prevent delays, fines, or non-compliance.
- Oversee materials and equipment tracking, including purchase orders, delivery schedules, and usage logs.
- Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and clients regarding billing, compliance, and documentation.
- Support project managers and field teams by aligning financial records, payroll allocations, and material costs with project progress.
- Coordinate with insurance carriers and stakeholders for claims management on assigned projects, ensuring proper handling or resolution.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in project accounting, construction accounting, or project administration.Proficiency in QuickBooks Contractor / Desktop (job costing, payroll, billing, reporting).Strong understanding of construction project workflows, permits, and compliance.Knowledge of TCP barricade processes and utility / telecom permitting .Excellent organizational and document control skills.Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication skills for working with internal teams, vendors, clients, and agencies.If you are interested in applying for this job please press the Apply Button and follow the application process.
