Job Title : Senior Buyer / Procurement Lead

The Senior Buyer coordinates all activities related to the procurement of commodities, from the initial intent to purchase through to delivery. This role involves analyzing commodity requirements, including specifications, preferred suppliers, and delivery dates. The Senior Buyer solicits and evaluates proposals, negotiates costs, and ensures timely, quality delivery while maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all activities related to the procurement of commodities from intent to purchase through delivery.
• Analyze requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred suppliers, and delivery timelines.
• Solicit and evaluate proposals for requested commodities.
• Investigate and interview potential suppliers to ensure they meet specified requirements.
• Negotiate the lowest possible cost for the commodity while balancing quality and schedule needs.
• Ensure the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets quality standards.
• Maintain timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents for accurate record retention.
• Coordinate methods needed to distribute commodities in a cost-effective manner.
• Confer with suppliers regarding late deliveries or quality issues.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $45.00 / hr.
