  • Peachtree Orthopedic Surgery Center at Perimeter (Sandy Springs) Work Schedule :  Embrace a work-life balance with 8-hour shifts, no nights, no weekends, no holidays, and no on-call duties.

    • Job Type :

  • Full-time Summary The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Surgery Center in the absence of the ASC Manager.
  • This role provides leadership and clinical direction to ensure the Center achieves its objectives, delivering efficient surgical services that promote positive patient experiences and foster strong working relationships across all departments.
  • Essential Duties & Responsibilities Collaborate with the ASC Manager to analyze situations, take effective action, and ensure policy compliance.
  • Maintain and educate staff on POSC policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies; report variances and risk events.
  • Monitor Center performance against benchmarks and report updates to leadership.
  • Participate with the Governing Body to align mission with community needs and trends.
  • Oversee healthcare service provision, including resource management.
  • Assist with hiring, training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
  • Resolve medical or administrative issues while maintaining strong staff morale.
  • Manage surgical suite instruments, equipment, and maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate implants, specialty equipment, and inventory processes.
  • Support materials management, OR circulator relief, and emergency preparedness drills.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities Direct supervision of the Surgery Center in the ASC Manager’s absence.
  • Responsibilities include hiring, training, assigning work, performance reviews, and addressing complaints in accordance with organizational policies and laws.
  • Qualifications Education & Experience Registered Nurse (GA license) and / or Business / Health Management degree.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of management experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery setting.
  • Fiscal management experience in a for-profit setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • Skills & Abilities Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel (Advanced), PowerPoint, Outlook, and EMR systems.

    • Mathematical Skills Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Reasoning Ability Capable of making sound decisions under pressure, adapting to change, and accepting constructive feedback.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations BLS certification required.
  • ACLS preferred.
  • Physical Demands & Work Environment Regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, and hearing.
  • Frequent bending and full range of motion in upper extremities.
  • Occasionally lift / move up to 60 lbs.
  • Moderate noise level; open and potentially distracting office environment.

  • The employee frequently is required to move all extremities within a full range of motion, as well as stoop and bend at 90 degrees.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
