Department Overview

The rehabilitation team at Good Samaritan is excited to welcome a Physical Therapist Assistant to our dedicated group. Our therapy services cater to both long-term care residents and short-term rehabilitation for various conditions, including :

Neurological conditions
Orthopedic issues
Balance, falls, and gait challenges

Job Summary

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will :

Assist patients / residents / clients with therapy activities and exercises as outlined in their treatment plans, under the supervision of a physical therapist.

Monitor and record therapy services for individuals with physical, cognitive, and developmental impairments.

Select, implement, and modify therapeutic activities to align with patient goals and practice requirements.

Communicate effectively with the physical therapist regarding patient responses and progress.

Stay informed about targeted therapy outcomes and document achievements accordingly.

Adhere to accepted clinical practice guidelines and perform related duties as needed.

Your focus may vary based on facility needs, including post-acute, long-term care, and home health care environments.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should have :

Appropriate education as per state licensure requirements.

A degree from an approved American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) program as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state(s) of practice.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of employment.

A valid driver's license may be required, depending on the role.
