Job Summary :
This position is an hourly position responsible for Leading a team of Technicians in Pressing area providing accurate, efficient, & prompt communication with Manager. Responsible for active duties such as preparation & processing through manual & automated systems to operate presses & convey intermediate & by-products to holding areas, lot tracking of intermediate & final products, sampling of work-in-process for Quality Control functions, maintaining proper sanitation & storage of processing equipment & supplies. Assist technical personnel in the preparation of products for pressing.
Responsibilities :
Monitor & control technical personnel in equipment operation during production.
Monitor & control automated & manual processing machinery.
- Move press cages between press areas during operation.
- Keep clean & sanitary– work areas, equipment & reusable elements such as filters between production runs.
- Direct product waste to appropriate disposal equipment with the use of automated equipment.
- Operate Press Feed & powered lift equipment from elevated control panels.
- Monitor & adjust temperature of product storage tanks with the use of manual and electronic systems.
- Provide daily product safety & equipment sanitation.
- Sample material in process & prepare samples for laboratory testing.
- Prepare intermediate products according to standard processes.
- Immediately inform & report of any equipment & processed material’s abnormality, failures, or malfunctions.
- Holds all corporate proprietary matters in utmost confidence.
- Assist in tank farm when needed (i.e. Connecting and disconnecting Moromi or raw soy sauce production hoses).
Required Skills :
Competent to lead a group of technicians by using reliable communication skills.1 year experience in an automated industrial food processing environment.Knowledge in sample collection, machinery sanitation & record keeping.Knowledge in all Press Area operations.Aptitude to read manuals, write & verbally communicate process reports to Manager & technicians.Capability to calculate math formulas for percentages, multiply & divide fractions correctly.Capability to climb stairs & perform some tasks on elevated work platforms, mezzanines, access panels, & close working quarters.Capacity to push & pull up to 75 pounds using heavy product handling equipment. Lift up to 40 pounds repetitively as a normal function of the job.Capable of tolerating exposure to odors & products without adverse reaction.Tol lerant of working in a high noise level environment for up to 10 hours per day, while utilizing personal protective hearing equipment.Competent to see & read meters, switches, charts, & materials in process.Capable to stand as needed for up to 10 hours per day.Capable to move freely as required to perform normally assigned duties.Must tolerate exposure to outdoor environmental conditions including but not limited to rain, snow, hail, extreme heat or cold, dust & high humidity.Wear industry approved PPE for safety.Proficient at working productively in a multi-cultural environment & communicating effectively with supervisory & staff.Capable of following assigned tasks & duties.Proficient at troubleshooting mechanical issues.Education & Experience :
High School Diploma or GED.
Continuing education in Industrial Technology or related field highly desired.
Must pass background check & drug screen.
