Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented staff accountant to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. This contract position involves collaborating with various departments to manage financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The role requires a proactive individual capable of handling reconciliation tasks, financial reporting, and budgeting in a dynamic, multi-state environment.

Responsibilities :

• Perform detailed month-to-month and year-to-year expense analysis, identifying necessary adjustments to the general ledger and accruals.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries with accuracy and timeliness.
• Reconcile gross profit figures between financial and billing distribution systems on a monthly basis.
• Compile and distribute financial statements and reports, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
• Conduct budget versus actual expense analyses to identify variances and provide actionable insights.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly, addressing errors, write-offs, and items requiring management review.
• Collaborate with suppliers to maintain payment aging within corporate guidelines, including bank reconciliations and forecasting.
• Prepare and file monthly tax reports in compliance with regulations.
• Support annual budget forecasting and participate in strategic financial planning.
• Manage petty cash reconciliation, monthly spoils billing, and commission payouts, ensuring timely processing.
