The unit consists of mixed care, handling step down patients with specific needs. There are 36 private rooms equipped with accommodations for parents. Staffing includes a charge nurse, patient care technicians, and clinical nurse coordinators. Patient ratios are 1 : 3 for step down patients and 1 : 4 for basic care patients. Common procedures include NGTs, Foleys, TP Tubes, and PIVs. Phlebotomy is performed using an AccuVein device, and lumbar punctures may occasionally occur. The department fosters a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. Candidates should be willing to ask for help and support their teammates. Flexibility in scheduling is a priority, with efforts to accommodate traveler requests. The unit is equipped with Phillips monitors and operates on an electronic medical record system.
