Johnson & Johnson MedTech Surgery is seeking a highly disciplined Portfolio Strategy Manager to lead program planning, data management strategy, and tactical execution for a high-visibility global program supporting the execution of strategic portfolio initiatives. Supporting the commercial program leader, this role manages all operational aspects of the program including detailed activity tracking, milestone management, dashboard reporting, and creation of robust data structures and governance frameworks. This is a mission-critical role that will directly contribute to a highly impactful initiative in our business, offering broad exposure across global functions and to senior leadership. The Portfolio Strategy Manager will deliver results that shape the company's portfolio future, providing exceptional opportunities for professional growth, career development, and organizational visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Planning & Execution
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans with activities, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to enable timely execution of program actions.
- Monitor progress against plan, proactively identify deviations, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Own action item tracking, milestone accountability, and program documentation for knowledge transfer.
- Data Management & Governance
- Serve as program data lead; ensure all datasets and cross-referenced sources are accurate, consistent, and auditable.
- Own datasets for new and existing product codes; manage mappings to resolve inconsistencies.
- Design standardized datasets and governance policies with clear definitions, lineage, and procedures to support reporting across the program lifecycle.
- Create documentation and guidance for future data owners to sustain governance standards beyond the program term.
- Maintain data quality, compliance, and continuity throughout program execution.
- Dashboarding & Reporting
- Build and maintain clear, actionable dashboards reflecting program status, market conversion progress, and milestone completion.
- Ensure high data accuracy, consistent metric definitions, and accessible reporting for leadership and program stakeholders.
- Translate key metrics into insights that inform leadership decisions and course corrections.
- Regulatory & Launch Scheduling
- Partner with Regulatory teams to identify anticipated approval dates and align launch timelines by market.
- Schedule and coordinate launches with cross-functional teams, ensuring readiness in all supporting functions.
- Stakeholder Partnership
- Act as a dependable execution partner to Marketing, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Finance, and Regional Operations teams.
- Maintain strong collaboration and clear communication with internal stakeholders on tactical program status, risks, and dependencies.
- Ensure all program documentation meets governance standards for consistency and transparency.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA) preferred.5 years of progressive business experience in the healthcare industry, with a focus on marketing, strategy, or project management.Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a matrix organization while collaborating effectively with various teams.Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the capability to translate insights into actionable plans.Excellent collaboration, communication, and influencing skills to engage stakeholders at all levels within the organization.Familiarity with Wound Closure and / or Biosurgery products is preferred.Experience with project management methodologies, along with certification in Six Sigma or Process Excellence, is a plus.Proficiency in MS Office and project management software tools.Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.Flexibility to work non-traditional hours to support global markets as needed.Benefits Summary
