Unit Information : o Beds : 22 Bed ICU ? Census : 20 patients / day o Minimum Years of Experience required : 1 year minimum with CVICU experience o Will you accept a first-time traveler : Yes, with CVICU Experience ? Patient Types / Common Diagnoses : o Surgical and Medical Cardiac Critical Care unit, that cares for patients suffering cardiovascular support. Common seen diagnosis Post operations for CABG, valve replacement / repair, Impella, IABP management, thoracic aortic aneurysms etc. ? Patient Ratios : o RN : 1 : 2 o CNA : 1 : 20 ? Required Licensure & Certifications : o BLS, ACLS, NIHSS o CCRN (preferred) ? Skills required : o EPIC experience (preferred); Post cardiac assessment, know how to care for circulatory support (IABP, IMPELLA, LVAD, ECMO), titration of vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medication, interpretation of cardiac waveforms, and hemodynamic monitoring. ? Support within the Department : o CNA : ADLs, Blood Sugar, vital signs and transport o Receptionist : Unit management of phone calls, and replacement. Yes, 24 Hours o Charge nurse : Yes, often in assignment o Phlebotomy : Nurse Draw o RT 24 / 7 : Yes, allocated in CVICU o Intensivist 24 / 7 ?
