\n\nPCU Registered Nurse Job Details\n \n

  • Location : Washington, DC 20007 (ideal for nurses seeking DC healthcare jobs)\n
  • Facility Type : Short Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital\n
  • Unit : S52 Med Surg IMC (Intermediate Care Unit / Stepdown)\n
  • Contract Type : Travel Nursing Assignment\n
  • Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 – End : 2 / 16 / 2026)\n
  • Shift : Nights, 3x12-Hour Shifts (18 : 30 - 07 : 00)\n
  • Weekly Hours : 36\n
  • Estimated Weekly Pay : $1610 - $1730 per week\n
  • Patient Population : Adults & Geriatrics\n
  • Unit Size : 28 beds, 1 : 4 nurse-to-patient ratio\n
  • Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend rotation\n
  • Float Requirement : Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed\n
  • Charting System : Cerner EMR\n
  • COVID-19 : Must be willing to care for COVID-19 patients\n

    • \n\nPCU Registered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active DC Registered Nurse license (required prior to start)\n
  • Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, IMC, or Stepdown nursing experience\n
  • At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment (travel RN experience required)\n
  • BLS certification (required)\n
  • ACLS and BSN preferred\n
  • Proficiency with Cerner charting system\n
  • Two supervisor references required\n
  • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)\n
  • Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity\n
  • Weekend rotation required\n

    • \n\nPCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities\n \n

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients, including those with thoracic surgery, GI bleeds, pneumonia, liver failure, and CHF exacerbations\n
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac dysrhythmias\n
  • Initiate and maintain IVs, manage cardiac drips (no titration), and administer medications via Pyxis\n
  • Provide care for patients with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), tracheostomy, chest tubes, and central / peripheral lines\n
  • Implement IV insulin and heparin protocols as needed\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams\n
  • Float to other nursing units as required and participate in weekend rotations\n
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR\n
  • Complete orientation and all required modules prior to assignment start\n
