Sr. Quality Engineer - Production
Our Production Quality Engineers develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance procedures for sourcing reliable materials and processing them into products that meet customer and regulatory requirements. They are responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring compliance of suppliers, manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality, and regulatory standards requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage Quality assurance of assigned Products / Processes / Programs, monitor controls, define performance indicators and analyze trends to identify, prioritize and resolve issues. Facilitate root cause analysis and perform corrective action. Provide recommendations and guidance on process improvements to the Quality team while maintaining compliance with industry standards. Assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining inspection methods that support better precision. Perform Internal Audits and assist with 3rd Party Audits. Present findings and evidence of compliance to Certification Authorities and Customers. Represent Quality department as a SME in cross functional teams. Proactively identify and document best practices, coach and train other team members. Provide trainings inside or outside the Quality organization on established process, procedures, and systems.
Minimum Requirements
Education / Experience : Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering discipline (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Material Science, Computer Science, or similar), preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of Engineering degree. Demonstrates proficiency - typically five+ years of direct experience with the duties, responsibilities and skills of the role for consideration as Senior Quality Engineer. Demonstrates competency - typically eight+ years of direct experience with the duties, responsibilities and skills of the role for consideration as Staff Quality Engineer. Experience in the following skills is required, while Proficiency or Competency is preferred :
Employment Eligibility Requirements : As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible. Base salary range for a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer is $79,293 - $118,940 per year. Base salary range for Staff Supplier Quality Engineer is $94,208 - $141,313 per year. Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
