Account Specialist

Position Summary

The Accounting Specialist will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting grant and fund accounting, and assisting with daily financial operations. This position reports to the Finance Manager and collaborates closely with program and development teams to ensure transparency and compliance across all financial activities.

Key Responsibilities

Process and record accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and promptly.

Reconcile bank accounts and maintain general ledger accuracy.

Support monthly and year-end closing activities.

Track and report on restricted and unrestricted grant funds.

Prepare and review journal entries, expense reports, and supporting documentation.

Assist in developing financial reports for management, funders, and auditors.

Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP) and internal controls.

Support the annual audit process by providing requested documentation and reconciliations.
