Job Description :
Pay Range : $22.24hr - $24hr
Responsibilities :
- Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge samples, record maintenance data, perform decontamination, and update patient information.
- Collect and store specimens following established procedures.
- Clearly and courteously explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes to patients.
- Demonstrate proper technique using straight needles and butterfly needles.
- Understand and follow all physician orders.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes accurately.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
- Verify test requisitions or computer labels for accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport according to protocol.
- Store specimens at required temperatures and ensure proper labeling.
- Follow procedures to maintain specimen integrity during transport.
- Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
- ttend annual department training sessions.
- nswer phone calls and communicate laboratory results when required.
Requirement / Must Have :
Valid Phlebotomy certification as required by the state of employment.Minimum 6 months of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.High School Diploma or GED.2-4 years of relevant experience.Experience :
Phlebotomy experience (1.5 years preferred).Experience performing phlebotomy on all types of patients, including difficult (hard stick) cases.Experience with specimen types such as urine and thyroid testing.Computer skills, data entry, and processing experience.Should Have :
