• Current Maine nursing license or compact state license required
• BSN preferred
• Current, unexpired certifications required
• BLS certification required and ACLS certification preferred
• Required immunizations : varicella 2 doses or titer, HepB 3 doses or titer or declination, MMR 2 doses or titer, Tdap, PPD 2 step or titer within past 12 months
• Flu shot required during flu season
• Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments for all age groups
• Develop and implement patient care plans based on needs and physician orders
• Document patient care activities according to hospital policies and procedures
• Administer medications utilizing the five rights through med verify system
• Provide patient and family education and discharge planning
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and bedside rounding
• Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs, and pushing patients in wheelchairs and stretchers
• Must have visual and hearing acuity sufficient to assess patients
• Exposure to infectious diseases, blood borne pathogens, and toxic cleaning chemicals possible
• Participate in emergency / disaster preparedness planning and drills
