We are seeking a passionate, warm, reliable and dedicated individual to join our team in the infant and toddler classrooms (part time or full time). You will play a vital role in educating and nurturing young children, fostering their growth and development. You will create a positive and engaging environment that promotes social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Cainhoy Children's Academy is a private, family owned preschool in the Cainhoy / Point Hope community near Daniel Island, and we have been open for more than 5 years now.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for children to explore, learn, and play
  • Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and engagement
  • Monitor and assess each child's progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies for growth
  • Collaborate with parents / guardians to ensure open communication and involvement in their child's education
  • Maintain accurate records of each child's development, behavior, and attendance
  • Promote positive behavior management techniques to create a respectful and inclusive classroom environment
  • Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children
  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom
  • Help children reach developmental milestones
  • Collaborate with others to implement lesson plans
  • Encourage children to interact with each other to develop social skills
  • Adhere to health / safety and sanitation procedures

Requirements :

  • 6 months (minimum) experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents / guardians, and colleagues
  • Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports each child's unique needs
  • Passion for working with young children and helping them reach their full potential
  • Fully capable to have visual and hearing capabilities consistent with Child Licensing

    Pay : $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

    Expected hours : 25 – 40 per week
