Overview

The Technical Services Group provides smoke control system testing, fire protection system evaluations and design, LEED commissioning services, retro / re-commissioning services, and energy / resilience audits for commercial buildings.

This is a mid-level engineering role in the rapidly growing Technical Services Group. A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of Fire Protection and Smoke Control systems used in commercial buildings. Knowledge of energy efficiency and conservation measures, mechanical engineering principles, and building control systems is expected. A working knowledge of building management and control systems is a plus.

Essential job functions

• Lead the testing and commissioning of mechanical, fire protection, and smoke control systems.
• Coordinate and conduct off-hours and weekend smoke control system testing.
• Review MEP / FP and architectural plans and specifications for conformance with codes and industry best practices.
• Design and evaluation of fire protection systems, including fire suppression and alarm systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculation software.
• Report findings from site observations, system testing, and fire protection assessments.
• Develop test procedures to evaluate the performance of building systems, including fire suppression, smoke control, and alarm systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and fire protection system issues / defects in the field.
• Engage with clients and coordinate with other engineering team members.
