Senior Friendship Centers is seeking a volunteer Massage Therapist Instructor to offer massages twice a week to our seniors.We are looking for someone with great energy, and a positive, upbeat personality with knowledge / education.

Duties :

  • Provide a relaxing and beneficial massage tailored to older adults
  • Have enough materials ready
  • Greet all members
  • Explain why you enjoy this activity and want to offer it to others
  • Set up your rules for the task at hand
  • Deliver instructions in a clear and meaningful way
  • Thank members for attending

Schedule : Twice a week - Activity Center and Adult Day Program

Location : Senior Friendship Centers - Sarasota Activity Center and Adult Day Program at our Brother Geenen Way, Sarasota, FL 34236 location.

Reports To : Center Manager

Requirements :

  • Massage Therapist Certified.
  • Experience in senior fitness.
  • Knowledge of proper movements that are safe for older adults.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with seniors.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all staff, clients, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Friendly, flexible, able to handle challenges, and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Must possess cultural awareness and sensitivity for all individuals and groups.
