JOB SUMMARY :
This position will be a member of a team of behavioral health providers in the Center of LGBTQ Health Equity at Chase Brexton Health Care and will provide direct behavioral health services in support of integrated primary care. Behavioral health will encompass prevention, intervention, and recovery from behavioral health issues and concerns, in addition to providing assessments and letters for gender affirmation surgeries (GAS) within the primary care setting across Chase Brexton Health Care.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Analytical and Critical Thinking
- Conducts brief, evidence-based and developmentally appropriate screenings
- Conducts time limited assessments
- GAS Assessments and surgical letters as needed (we will provide training)
- Applies knowledge of evidence-based practice, including empirical bases of assessment, intervention, and other clinical applications, expertise and patient preferences to individuals, couples, groups and families to include adults, children and adolescents
- Provides emergency assessment of patients in crisis and facilitates psychiatric hospitalization if needed.
- Assesses discharge readiness throughout the course of treatment
Problem Solving and Decision Making
Create and implement integrated treatment plans, ensuring access to organizational and external services within allotted time frames.Independently evaluates treatment progress and modifies planning as indicated, even in the absence of established outcome measuresCommunication

Degree required : Minimum Master's Degree in Social WorkLicense Required : provisionally licensed LMSW, LGPC; LCPC, LCSW-C, or Licensed Psychologist in the state of Maryland preferredExperience in the provision of outpatient mental health servicesExperience in LGBTQ behavioral care, ideally in a primary care environment
