Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) to join our fast-paced and high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary skills and experience to provide exceptional care to diverse patients, including those with medical, surgical, trauma, cardiac, and stroke-related diagnoses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients in the ICU step-down unit.
  • Perform assessments and monitor patient vital signs and conditions.
  • Administer medications and manage IV therapy.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams for comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and healthcare practices.
  • Adhere to isolation precautions and wound care protocols.

    • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 2 years solid IMC experience required; will accept 1 year ICU experience with an understanding of higher patient ratios.
  • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and Maryland Trauma Certificate required within 27 weeks.
  • Proficient in Cerner charting system preferred.
  • Experience managing arterial lines, blood products, and central lines.
  • Understanding of cardiac monitoring and emergency response protocols.
