Job Description

Job Summary

A reputable higher education institution is seeking an Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to support its financial operations. Offering an excellent resume-building opportunity with the potential for long-term or permanent placement. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of office experience and strong skills in AP processing, data entry, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable Processing :
  • Receive, sort, and process invoices, payments, and receipts
  • Ensure accurate data entry in PeopleSoft, AvidXchange, and OnBase
  • Assist with Concourse and Concur transactions
  • Review AP transactions for accuracy and completeness
  • Financial & Vendor Communication :
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors and university departments
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies
  • Maintain and update vendor and customer contact information
  • Compliance & Documentation :
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP, IRS regulations, and university policies
  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation
  • Maintain detailed financial records for compliance
  • General Administrative Support :
  • Coordinate with departments for smooth financial operations
  • Support month-end and year-end closing tasks
  • Perform additional administrative and financial support duties as needed Requirements

    • Experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or a related field

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (a must)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong math skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
