SCHEDULE
Monday – Wednesday, 9 : 00AM – 5 : 00PM; Thursday 9 : 00AM – 4 : 00PM
Family Service League is seeking a part-time Instructor to provide substance use prevention education, parenting education programming, and social-emotional learning lessons to middle and high school students, families, and the community. This position plays a key role in promoting healthy decision-making and building resilience among youth and parents.
Responsibilities :
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate substance use prevention and character-building programs in middle schools, high schools, and other youth-centered settings.
- Complete training in evidence-based educational programs and deliver curriculum-based lessons in diverse school environments.
- Design and present community education sessions on substance use prevention and healthy decision-making.
- Represent the program at health fairs, community events, and outreach activities.
- Maintain accurate records, including program data entry, reporting, and evaluation metrics.
- Collaborate with school staff, community partners, and program team members to ensure effective implementation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support program goals.
Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.Minimum of two years’ experience conducting presentations to children and adults is required.Extensive knowledge of illicit and abused substances.Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills required.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related computer applications required.Physical Requirements :
Ability to travel independently to schools and community locations; must have reliable transportation.Ability to stand, walk, and move between classrooms or event spaces for extended periods.Ability to lift, carry, and distribute program materials such as packets and workbooks.Adequate vision, hearing, and communication skills to effectively deliver presentations in classroom and community settings.Comfortable working in a variety of environments (e.g., schools, community centers, family shelters, community events).
