Senior Systems Engineering Manager

This position is for a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineering Manager and a member of Strategic Solutions Engineering team. You will lead a small team of Systems Engineers whose charter is to design, develop, test, and deploy mission critical weapon systems for the United States Air Force. You will work with leaders that are People Focused, have a One Team mentality and are Mission Driven. Our team takes pride in their contributions to the defense and security of the United States. The qualified leader will have past experience in leading engineering efforts of multi-disciplined engineers that work in a dynamic environment for DoD based customers. Creativity and leadership in full system engineering life cycle experience is required, working with multiple discipline team both local and in remote locations.

What you will do :

• Lead the engineering team using strong interaction, interpersonal, mentoring and negotiating skills, and will be responsible for managing project risks / issues and elevating to upper management when appropriate. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for adhering to and supporting Collins Aerospace process methodologies while managing commitments to meet project financial and schedule deliverables and quality requirements.
• Direct the utilization of systems engineering fundamentals, project management, and development / test concepts for mission applications.
• Guide team members on the creation of engineering plans, execution baselines, program execution and staffing plans, and technical risk assessments in support of customer expectations and business objectives.
• Guide team members on the management of scope, schedule and budget for systems engineering activities; candidate must have experience in using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) performance measurement; candidate must be able to assign and coordinate staffing.
• Lead, review, and provide guidance to team members on bid and proposal activities for Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and pursuits.
• Perform hiring decisions, performance assessment, and personnel management for a team of technical staff members.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education / training, and key skills. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and / or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
