Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position in Illinois, requiring ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certification.

Responsibilities

Position is on an 18-bed Labor & Delivery unit in an acute care hospital setting

Night shifts available in either 3x12 or 4x12 schedules from 18 : 00 to 06 : 30

No weekend or on-call requirement

Floating may occur within scope, including to pediatric units as needed

Cerner is used as the charting system; prior Cerner experience is preferred

Scrubs are provided for this role

Provide comprehensive care throughout antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum stages

Support high-risk deliveries, assist with vaginal and C-section births, and manage newborn care immediately after delivery

Perform labor management tasks including sterile exams, non-stress testing, and fetal heart rate monitoring

Educate and support parents with newborn care, discharge instructions, and postpartum wellness

Required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if the assignment occurs during those dates

Locals are accepted with no radius restrictions

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

Active IL RN license or in application process prior to consideration

Minimum of 2 years' experience in Labor & Delivery required

Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring required (AHA or Red Cross only)

Proven experience in Antepartum, Labor & Delivery, High Risk Antepartum, Level I Nursery, LDRP, and Mother / Baby required

Demonstrated competency in fetal monitoring, IV therapy, phlebotomy, medication administration (including Pitocin, antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate), and C-section circulation

Must have skills in APGAR scoring, newborn assessment and care, pain management, postpartum and neonatal care procedures

Background check and vaccine administration experience required

Cannot be a permanent or PRN employee of Memorial within the last 12 months
