American Traveler is seeking a CA-licensed RN for a patient placement role in an acute care setting, requiring Cerner and TeleTracking experience and no direct patient care.
Responsibilities
Position is in the Bed Placement / Patient Placement department within an acute care environmentRole has zero hands-on patient care and focuses on coordinating bed assignments across up to three hospitalsUses Cerner EMR and TeleTracking bed management systemShifts are 12 hours, three days per week, from 6 : 30am to 7 : 00pmRequires four weekend shifts within a four-week periodNo floating requiredNo block scheduling; initial schedule assigned, future shifts are self-scheduled with adjustments for unit needsCasual professional dress or any color scrubs allowedOrientation includes one day of general hospital orientation and 3-5 days in department, potentially on any shiftPrimary responsibility is placing patients in appropriate units based on medical needs and available bedsWorks closely with charge nurses, hospital leadership, and uses multiple computer screens and applications throughout shiftsNo involvement in making recommendations, treatment plans, or diagnosesLead and supervisor are available 24 / 7 for supportCafé is available onsite but closes at 2 : 30pmFree onsite parking and four hours of complimentary EV charging are availableTeam culture is described as busy and supportiveFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyMust be able to work holidays as needed; PTO not available for holiday shiftsLimited to no RTO (requested time off) can be accommodatedRequirements
Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum of 2 years recent acute care experience required; one LTC contract acceptable but predominantly SNF experience will not be consideredCurrent BLS certification requiredExperience and proficiency with Cerner EMR and TeleTracking bed management system requiredStrong computer skills with preferred experience using Zoom and Google applicationsAbility to distinguish between different care units (e.g., MedSurg vs Telemetry)Must be able to multitask and demonstrate excellent customer service skillsSuccessful completion of the Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance, pass / fail with up to 2 attempts allowed; prior completed exam within last 12 months acceptedCandidates may not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, Dignity, or CHI facilities within the past yearMust provide two professional references meeting specified criteriaBenefits
