Essential Functions

The Public Safety Officer provides a visual security presence to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians and staff.

Provides routine security patrols of campus, both internal and external. Patrols assigned area on a constant basis to maintain crowd control and order.

Performs safety and equipment inspections.

Provides information and assistance to patients, visitors, staff and the general public. Responds to all calls for assistance immediately unless involved in or responding to an emergency situation. Documents details on incident reports as needed.

Operates security screening equipment, access control systems, video security and intrusion detection systems. Reports and controls unauthorized or suspicious persons, unsafe conditions or other irregularities.

Completes the required paperwork to account for all security-related actions.
