Regional Sales Director - Diabetes

Medtronic is seeking a Regional Sales Director to lead the Diabetes Field Sales and Clinical team. In this role, you'll drive business strategy, foster an engaged and inclusive culture, lead a high-performing team, oversee forecasting, and P&L. You will build key relationships with KOLs and HCP partners, support diabetes therapy initiatives, and foster talent development through coaching managers and sales reps. Additionally, you'll manage resources and budgets, execute cross-functional strategies, launch new products and programs, and provide leadership reporting to support market growth. This is a field-based position that will support the Northeast Region. This will include; Maine, Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, West Virginia, and Maryland. The expectation would be to split time in the field and remote- 50 / 50.

This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

Strategic Leadership :

  • Leads regional sales and clinical team to achieve targets through strategic planning, competitive analysis, and sales process optimization.
  • Drives market share growth, sales forecasting, P&L management, and development of new sales.

HCP and KOL Development :

  • Builds and maintains key relationships with accounts, KOLs, and HCPs to support sales, market development, and clinical programs.
  • Culture and Team Engagement :

  • Coaches and develops team skills, fostering a high-performing, growth-oriented culture.
  • Strategic Cross-Functional Execution and Communication :

  • Oversees resources, budgets, and cross-functional strategies; collaborates on new launches and communicates with leadership.
  • Leadership and Talent Development :

  • Provides team leadership, coaching, and talent development, with a proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Must Have : Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant sales and leadership experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant sales and leadership experience
  • Nice to Have :

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Knowledgeable in Diabetes Therapy Management
  • Has a broad understanding of organizational context and comprehensive knowledge of the medical devices market and environment
  • 5 years' experience in budget and P&L management
  • Experience directing and leading full line sales teams : regional managers, sales reps, territory managers, clinical support reps, sales reporting & analysts etc.
  • Established key customer relationships
  • Expertise in sales forecasting, strategy, sales structure
  • A strong grasp of financial acumen
  • Successfully created and implemented sales programs resulting in significant sale increases

    Field Roles : Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy. In addition, your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as part of your application. Must be able to drive approximately 100% of the time within assigned territory and may require overnight travel.

    In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals.
