Lead Designer, Energy Sport Ignite Footwear Product Design

WHO YOULL WORK WITH

Collaboration with design management to actively gain experience, enhance design skills and increase knowledge of Nike's design philosophy, products and processes will be key. You'll also partner with category team members in design, development and merchandising to ensure feasibility of designs, meeting price point, merchandising needs and product creation timelines.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Were currently looking for aLead Designerto help lead and develop seasonal design concepts for footwear. Product Design at Nike is a diverse culture of creativity, collaboration and innovative thinking on all levels. This role requires strong passion and knowledge of footwear product creation and the ability to problem solve every step of the way, from concept to final design. This teammate embodies expert communication skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into focused design narratives as well as a passion and energy for sport culture and design.

• Bachelors degree in Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
• 6+ years of relevant work experience in designing and developing innovative footwear and other products
• Possess key Leadership Skills; Product Excellence Centered Passion & Mastery, Vision Crafting, World Building, Concept Development, Aesthetic Sensibility, Trend / Style / Culture Awareness, Consumer Centric Forward Leaning Mindset, Critical Thinking, Presentation, Global Awareness, Team Player, Growth Mindset
• Demonstrated passion and understanding of trend and visual culture
• Expert communication and presentation skills using a variety of formats
• Proficient in Adobe CC and comfortable working within new digital spaces
• Must be able to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs)
• Ability to apply and perform design skills such as drawing / sketching / cobbling ideation, digital product creation and visual presentation development & layout, color theory, use of texture, spacing and scale.
• Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives
• Experience in technical footwear design Performance footwear experience design is a plus
• Strong Photoshop, Illustrator, Gravity Sketch, Understanding of AI Ideation skills
• Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project
• Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus
• 3D design programs experience is a plus
• Strong sketching, illustration, cobbling and rendering skills
• Experienced with presentation programs : Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
